With your generosity, we can help more children develop resiliency, empathy and coping strategies that lead to greater academic progress and overall achievement. We hope we can count on your support to continue our record of success into next year!
WE ARE THANKFUL…
To our students and parents, for the opportunity to serve you each week.
To our teachers, for your creativity and inspiration.
To our leadership, for your commitment and dedication.
To our donors and friends, for helping us grow to new heights.
At The Meeting House, we are filled with gratitude,
for the community and connection that you bring to our lives!
For thirteen years we have been pioneers in the field of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and are grateful to see the world now embracing these essential life skills. This strong emotional foundation is the key to managing personal challenges, resolving conflict, and building healthy relationships.
The efficacy of our established practices, rooted in evidence-based research, has benefitted our growing constituency. We’ve grown beyond an after school program and now serve people of all ages in a variety of settings. To clarify our evolution, we’ve rebranded ourselves as The Meeting House SEL (tmhsel.org) and now provide SEL for all ages!
Importantly, we adapted our model to deliver outdoor, indoor, and virtual sessions successfully. When our team of social workers and educators returned to our partner school in Harlem, The Thurgood Marshall Academy Lower School, we doubled both the students in our program and the hours we taught there.
Through our Young Professionals venture we recruit college and post graduate interns, cultivating the next generation of leaders in the field. These students work twice a week with elementary school children, under the supervision of a social worker, to refine and master social emotional education and enhance their ability to role model.
In addition our parenting support groups, in school and after school programs have continued uninterrupted for the past two years, despite the challenges of the pandemic.
We are thankful that our passion resonates deeply with our constituents to inspire a growing community of children, teens, adults, and professionals to strengthen their social emotional skills during this unprecedented time. We gratefully look forward to your generous support.
Thank you for making it all possible!
